A couple of years ago, I decided that I was going to revisit the Prehistoric Scenes series of model kits. I had built some of them as a kid. I went about collecting these kits mostly on eBay. Sometimes I was looking to get the whole kit and sometimes I just needed to get some missing parts. Along that journey I found that the prices for the kits were usually high and frequently exorbitant. It occurred to me that others such as myself might have the same experience. For some, the expense might be more than some would be willing to incur. I love these kits and would like others to have a chance to build them too. To that end, I decided that I was going to start a business that catered to Prehistoric Scenes fans. The first phase of this endeavor will be to provide replacement parts; first cast in resin and later 3D printed. Beyond that, my hope is to produce reengineered replicas that would look to reduce the number of seam lines build would have to contend with and fix other design issues. These would be 3D printed. Later, my hope is to produce a new line of Prehistoric Scenes kits. That is the hope. We'll see what happens. Cheers! John Hidalgo

Pyroraptor Early 2026 SKU# PS-NK-00001 I am working with 3D Paleoartist Joanna Kobierska to bring to life the first of a new line of Prehistoric Scenes kits. Development has just started bu I hope to have this available in early 2024. Prehistoric Scenes Magnets Summer 2026 SKU# PS-M-00003 I am still in the early stages of prototyping these refigerator magnets. Initial work has been promising but there is still a ways to go.

As a kid, I loved building the Aurora Prehistoric Scenes series of model kits. I had built the Flying Reptile (Pteranodon), the Three Horned Dinosaur (Triceratops), the Saber Tooth Tiger (Smilodon), the Tar Pit, the Woolly Mammoth (Mastodon), Neanderthal Man, Cro-Magnon Man and Cro-Magnon Woman. Sadly, at the time I never managed to collect all of the series. Also, sadly, those models have long been lost to time. Fast forward many years and I decided that I was going to revisit those kits and collect them all. Between 2023 and 2024 I managed to collect at least three of each kit. Starting in August of 2023 and finishing up in September of 2024 I managed to complete one set of all 17 of the Prehistoric Scenes models. Now, I am looking for ways to bring the joy of building Prehistoric Scenes kits to others by providing affordable, quality parts and kits. Cheers! John Hidalgo
